I am using Oppo R17 Pro and connected to Fitbit Charge 3. Fitbit app installed on my phone. I wanted notifications to be sent to my tracker from my phone, eg Whatsapp message and phone call but after pressing the tracker icon and then pressed notifications, the app crashed and revert back to Dashboard. How can I resolve this issue. Thank you.

Hello again, it's a pleasure to continue providing assistance with this situation, sorry for my delayed reply. Welcome aboard @SunsetRunner @AllisonJP @Samantha.louise and @Ismail2408. Nice to see you again participating @SunsetRunner.

I'd like to let you know that the Oppo R17 Pro has been added to our compatibility list, which can be confirmed in our help article: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?. That said, my recommendation is to update the Fitbit app to the latest version and verify that your mobile device Android version is up to date. If by any chance the difficulties persist, please try the following:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app
  2. Uninstall the app
  3. Reboot the Oppo R17 Pro
  4. Reinstall the Fitbit app

Let me know how it goes, I'll be here.

Hi @Ismail2408   thanks for your reply, welcome aboard. I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit connection difficulties.

Let me share with you that the Oppo R17 PRO is not currently listed as a compatible device with our products and services, therefore, you may experience certain connection difficulties with it. I'm aware that some users are able to use non-compatible devices with our Fitbit products, however, we cannot ensure a proper function of all its features due to this compatibility concern. Even though your new mobile device is not compatible, I recommend you to uninstall the Fitbit app, reboot your mobile device, reinstall the app and let me know how it goes.

If by any chance you're still unable to use your Fitbit app with your mobile device, I suggest you to try with a compatible device to avoid this situation.

I'll be here if you need further assistance.

I have the same problem with my oppo r17. App crashes/restarts when I attempt to set notification options for my ionic. Solution surely can’t be as simple as using a compatible device...

Hello @SteveG78 welcome aboard, I'm happy to provide you with assistance today.

Can you please let me know if the troubleshooting steps that were shared on my previous post were tried? As it turns out, since the Oppo R17 is not compatible with our products and services, we cannot ensure that all the features of your Fitbit device will work as the way we designed. If the steps that were posted above don't work, I recommend using a compatible device instead to check if the compatibility concern is the root cause of this notifications matter.

Don't hesitate to contact me back if you need anything else.

Dear Moderator,

The solution given does not work as the application still crashed. The alternate advise given to use another compatible device is unworkable as it is more expensive to purchase another phone. I hope you can come up with a reasonable solution to solve the problem.

maybe we should keep our phone and use another tracker instead

yep - considering that

for me there is no point having a tracker without phone and message
notifications not working. Yet to try Wallet, but given i haven't been
able to log into the wallet account on the app, that is also most likely
incompatible.

I have this phone as well and I previously had full functionality with no issues until the may 22 Android software update. Now I'm getting the same issues of the original poster and when I click on my female health tile as well it also crashes the app completely and no notifications anymore either which is very frustrating because it was working fine.

You are not alone with this issue, it sent me crazy yesterday trying to figure it out. Sadly no success. And to think I finally made the switch from Windows to Android maybe wasn't such a good idea.

Proprio, Veramente ??

While we all appreciate that Fitbit is operating in a constantly changing market place

saying that we must all go out and buy an older phone to ensure that our Fitbit products  will function as designed is just an admission that your software is not easily "tweeked" to keep it compatible. The notification of text's and calls from a smartphone to a smartwatch is equally as important to your users as the recording of personal stat's.

Having read many threads on this forum it is very obvious that there is a common theme in that

the Fitbit software is constantly lagging behind. When you think about it, most people have a two year contract with a mobile phone provider, and for maybe six months or longer, their Fitbit device will not function correctly. So at best only 18 months of full operation  before the cycle begins again. When you suggest ( yes I know you have been instructed to do so ) that we have to use "Older" devices to ensure full compatibility, that is forcing people to use a smartphone that is at least 18 months behind current technology, and we all know that this will never happen, we will all start looking for another Smartwatch provider, this been the cheaper and more appropriate option.

In general, the " official " responses in this forum are very much interpreted as a delay and deflection tactic, that is not to the benefit of the company. Other forums, and social media

in general can make or break a company these days. It's a very simple business decision to make, implement a policy to keep pace with newer technology, or fade away and die.

I also have the same problem with no longer receiving messages and the female health tile crashing. It was all working fine until about a month ago when I 1st noticed the problem with the female tile. In trying to fix this I uninstalled and reinstalled the app as per instructions and only ended up with the problem of no longer receiving messages. I have an oppo A3s. Not impressed with the current responses from Fitbit moderator.

My Oppo r17 pro seems to be having the same issues. I ring them earlier this morning and was told that this model of oppo is compatible and when I told her that it still wasn't working she told me to go buy a new phone. I'm not impressed

Until recently, I was using a windows 950 mobile, when I originally purchased it there was no functionality in respect of receiving Notifications. I know that Fitbit and Windows worked together to resolve the issue, but all windows phone users had to wait months and months

for this final resolution. I perceive that everyone with an Oppo / Samsung etc etc mobile phone will have to decide for themselves if waifing is worth it when there are other compatible and cheaper trackers available. Just out of interest, Despite never being updated, How come my 7 year old Mercedes infotainment centre is able to receive notifications from my Oppo R17 but my 3 year old Blaze isn't ?  What did Mercedes do 7 years ago that Fitbit cant do now ?
