My fitbit sense and app are fully updated, but whenever I try to open health metrics the app closes. Is there a fix for this?

You can try the following
In Android phone Settings * Apps Fitbit Storage - clear cache [not data] Force Fitbit shutdown [though it doesn't seem to fully] Log back in to the Fitbit app
*Quick Shortcut: Press and hold the Fitbit launch icon, then App info [on some phones] |
Or for IOS uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, and redo notification setup. |
Possibly wise to restart both watch and phone afterwards.

Some have and success (including me) in uninstalling the app and re-install it.
