Fitbit app draining battery and making handset hot

Had the Fitbit app on my Samsung S9 for over a year now. In the last week my handset started getting hot all the time and the battery was draining fast! After some troubleshooting - i found the cause to be the Fitbit app. I have uninstalled it and temp and battery are back to normal. Not sure why this changed recently.

@johnny_g Hi there. Thanks for the details mentioned.

I appreciate the troubleshooting performed. If you decide to install the Fitbit app again and it makes the handset hot, try the following:

- Log out from the Fitbit app

- Clear cache

- Restart your phone

- Log back in

Hope this helps.

I have gone through 2 Fitbit Versa because of this. My last one was from the replacement of the first one. In Stromberg 2020 I believe when they rolled out the heart and oxygen beta apps and I signed up for that within the next morning after the insulation my phone died like the first Versa as screen went out due to faulty battery. I didn't call because I was sure I was no longer within warranty although I believe it wasn't by fault but the app's fault. Now on a 3rd Versa that my partner is letting me use because they aren't wearing their's. I relate otto the app as well.
