Fitbit app keeps giving bedtime reminders despite no spot to turn them off

I've searched the app and other help topics, but it keeps asking me in the other forum posts to go to the sleep tracking tile. I haven't used my Fitbit HR charge since version two of that device, a few years now. Now. I still use my two scales and track weight and some exercise in the Fitbit app and enjoy the functionality and my almost decade of tracking information.

My problem is I recently downloaded the Fitbit app to my new phone and it still has the bedtime reminders. I can't seem to find the off button in the notification section, which you think it would be because it is a notification... All the FAQs say under the today tab click sleeping, then click settings, then click the bedtime reminders, my app keeps on popping up a window that says you need a compatible device to track sleeping, that's fine, but it's a full page pop-up that doesn't let you exit out and the continue button at the bottom does nothing. Does nothing. I don't want to have to go buy a $200 device to set up to turn off sleep notifications and then return the device because that seems incredibly wasteful for the device that can no longer be sold as new when I return it.

I would be grateful if anybody has any hints on how to turn this off. Thanks, Adam

Hi @aldldl  -  that is a dilemma, turning off bedtime reminders is done in the Sleep tile and Settings [gear icon].

Sometimes the windows that popup need to be scrolled, there may be more at the bottom or is incorrect.

What you can always try is to clear the Fitbit App storage cache and force stop it.

Also logout and login again.

An option is to login on your old phone which must have the sleep tile and change it there.

It isn't a notification that can be disabled in notifications.

Hello @aldldl and welcome to the Community.  There is an ongoing issue with this with iPhone users.  Your post is the first one I've seen in the Android forum.  The app layout changed since you last used your Fitbit.  Many of the descriptions you are trying to follow might be for older versions of the app.

You say that it's been a while, so make sure you have your Sleep tile on your phone dashboard.  If you don't have it, tap on the EDIT in the upper right of the screen, scroll down to the Additional Stats area, add it, then tap on DONE in the upper right.  Here's the path to the reminder setting:

  • Tap on the Sleep tile
  • Tap on the Settings (gear) icon
  • Scroll down to Bedtime Reminder and make sure it is toggled to OFF
  • Tap on Done in the upper left

Like I wrote, this is an ongoing issue with the iOS app.  My husband gets one every night and never, EVER set one.  I used to have one set, but switched mine off.  I get one two to five times a month.

Please get back if you have more questions.  I hope we can help.

I am seeing no way to add any tiles. I also tried in the account section under The health section, then sleep. I get the below pop-up, where the open button doesn't work.

Sorry for formatting issues, I sent this one from my phone too. Note this happens on both my Android 12 pixel 6 pro and my Android 11 pixel 5 that has not been upgraded yet.

I also have cleared the cache and storage, uninstalled and reinstalled and still can't add the sleep tile. (On both phones).

Thank you both for your replies and ideas!

@aldldl   How very strange!  The Sleep tile is a basic part of the app.

You tried all the troubleshooting steps I would recommend.  Perhaps it's time for a chat with Support to figure out why a basic tile is missing.
