Fitbit not connecting to new device.

My dad purchased the Charge HR and used it for several months. Now, he has passed it on to me since he does not use it anymore, but there is a problem. Whenever I try to sync the Charge HR to my Galaxy S6 edge, nothing happens. It just says try again and make sure it is on. On the phone that was previously connect to the fitbit, the device was removed, and on Bluetooth settings, "forget this device" was chosen. I have tried reseting it the normal way, then tried factory resetting it. Everytime I try to add the device, it still says try again.

If I have any grammatical or spelling errors, I'm on mobile. Thank you for your time.

What you may have to do is endure that the previous phone has bluetooth off, if it's in close proximity, before you try connecting your phone to fitbit. I use to have my blaze set up on both my iphone and galaxy s5 and it would stop pairing with my s5 if my iphone was any where close. Hope this helps.
