As per the subject, I find the Fitbit App (version 3.44) regularly gives readings way lower than Google Fit app on the same device i.e. yesterday Fitbit 2489 Google 6941 - height is same in both apps. ideas anyone?

Thanks for the details shared in your post. Fitbit released the version 3.45.1 of the app already so I recommend you to check that you have the latest version installed from the Play Store as instructed here. Also, please take in consideration that Google Fit might use a different formula to track your steps and for that reason there's a discrepancy on your data.

Thanks for your response, however I am running 3.45.1 currently. Today
Fitbit registered 14335 steps, Google Fit 3145!
