I went through the following process:
- "Set Up Health Connect" button through Fitbit
- Click "Set Up" on the first page and "I agree" on the second
- It gives me a pop-up that says "Go to Health Connect settings and allow Fitbit access. Seems like you rejected Health Connect permissions before. To turn them back on go to App permissions and allow Fitbit access." I have never rejected Health Connect permissions.
- I click "Open Settings"
- I click "App permissions"
- I click on the Fitbit app. It lights up briefly to show it recognized me clicking a button, but does not open any screen. If I try with any other app it goes to the App Permissions page with zero issue.
Any known fixes? I've already tried clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting my phone, etc. My phone is fully up to date and so are both apps. I tried going through Google's Fitbit support live chat and they were unable to resolve my issue and said they'd email me, and when I was emailed it was with instructions to repeat the same steps I already had tried several times on my own and with the live chat agent, then "If the issue persists, please try using another phone." As if I have another cell phone I carry around with me daily lol.
Am I just out of luck or are there any strange fixes people have discovered? I've seen similar posts mention you need to be signed in with Google and not an email address for this to work, but I am signed in with my Google account and clearly it's not working.

Same here. I was using Health Sync previously but that just stopped working as well. Was there a Fitbit update that blocked 3rd party apps?? What's going on?

I encountered the same problem! In fitbit application, it shows that google health is a connected app.
