Once again, it looks like Fitbit's software people have launched into making fancy aesthetic changes without fixing basic outstanding bugs and problems first. Many of these issues have been present for years without any resolution.
The food database is still poor and riddled with duplicated and inaccurate items.
The Android app still wipes out things you've typed as you're searching for foods and entering quantities.
Syncing is still inconsistent.
Connected GPS still drops frequently.
Instead of trying to "fix" things that aren't broken, how about y'all try to fix the issues that your users have been continually pointing out for years?

Hi @gtg947h, nice to see you around.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, we are always working to improve the functionality of the Fitbit app. Our team will receive your comments, since we actively reviewing your posts to provide feedback to our product development team.
Have you tried to use MFP option when logging food? You can link your account to MyFitnessPal for example, as they have a really good food database that has been gathered by a lot of users around the world. You will log the information (barcode scanner, single serving tracker, editable calories and recipe builder) from MFP and it will appear in your Fitbit account as MyFitnessPal Log.
You might double check the requirements and troubleshooting steps for the syncing issues that you're having. And take a look of this article too: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?
By the way, I’ve moved your post your post to the help forums board for categorization purposes.

I want to be clear. I AM NOT ASKING FOR HELP SOLVING CURRENT ISSUES!
I am proposing a "feature" that Fitbit developers actually fix the functional and operational issues that users continue to report, sometimes for years without resolution., before devoting resources to making cosmetic changes in the apps.
There are bugs in the Android app that have existed for the entire time I've been using my Versa and Fitbit hasn't even bothered to try and fix the problem beyond responding "have you tried restarting/re-pairing/resetting/reinstalling?" or "go use some other app".
One example of multi-year bugs that Fitbit still hasn't fixed despite existing for a long time: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Food-logs-amounts-keep-resetting-back/m-p/3326677
When it comes to software Fitbit is like that guy who never finishes the project he's working on before dropping it by the wayside to work on the new shiny thing that's caught his eye this week. It's like having a house built but the builder never quite finished the job and is refusing to come back and deal with the hot water in a bathroom not working, the light switches being miswired, and half the roof is still tar paper... because he's too busy moving on to the next shiny new house.
