Flex 2 has never properly worked, regardless of all the advice given here and elsewhere

I like the idea of the Flex 2. But the Bluetooth issues reported here and elsewhere make it pretty much unusable.

I've tried everything suggested here and everything I can find elsewhere to try to get this thing sorted. I just think it must be poorly designed. Bluetooth is Bluetooth, isn't it? How hard can it be to connect two devices and send information back and forth? Bluetooth was designed to be straightforward.

Anyway, I'm not buying a new phone (advice given to my father, which he did take and which did work for him). I have a Moto G5 Plus. It's about a year old. It should work. It just doesn't, except, as with others, occasionally.

I don't know if this constitutes negligence in design on the company's part, but it seems remarkable these days.

I'm researching fitness trackers from other companies, and, if I get something that works, I'll let you know.

@Declan44 I'm not sure which type of Bluetooth issues you are having or what phone you have.

Are the problems with notifications or syncing, has the tracker ever work correctly or has it been able to sync or receive notifications?

Currently they are at version BT 5.0 with several small updates in between, so Bluetooth is not necessarily simply Bluetooth. Bluetooth 5,0 has a range of 150 feet, while BT 4.0 is rated at 30 but has no problems at 50 and BT 3.0 your lucky if you can get the rated 30 feet.

You don't mention your phone, but with Androids phones, each manufacturer may choose their own hardware, and this adds problems for Fitbit, Garmin also has this issue,l. Both companies have decided to not use standards OS commands to access the tracker, but have written their own drivers. This basically means that some phones need specially Fitbit or Garmin written software just for that phone.
