Free Mindfulness sessions

I’ve been using the free mindfulness sessions, there used to be over 10 free ones. It now only shows me 2 free ones and says I have to buy premium to access the others now. Is this normal? Can I only use things for a certain amount of times before I have to start paying for them?

- a bit disappointed with Fitbit, having already bought the item and having to pay onto of that for the basics they advertised.

Hi @Dcwalton what phone are you asking about?

I am using a Moto. It was fine until a few days ago. No updates on my phone. It was fine until I charged my phone.

I am having the same issue. $9.99 for 1 year is all well and good but then going to $9.99/month is a deal breaker. I bought the Inspire based on good reviews of the app.

The number of things that I have NOT been able to do with my Versa 2 (with relative ease) has had me so aggravated. Now, they take away all but 2 very short (one pretty useless altogether) mindfulness sessions. This has me sooooo ready to leave Fitbit and finally get an Apple watch.

I am very upset at this change as well. I tried the premium but cancelled after the trial.  Did not want to spend that much money and liked the free options that were offered.  It’s a big disappointment that they were taken away. I’m thinking about just switching to an Apple Watch. Then I can use music I already gave and it won’t cost extra.

Best Answer

I agree.  I’m ready to switch as well. The only thing I like on my Fitbit now is the sleep screening but Apple is adding some better ones.  May be time to let Fitbit go....

Best Answer

Yes. I have noticed that there are only 2 mindfulness options now, unless you purchase premium. I meditate regularly and would like to log my own sessions.

I do have FitBit Premium, but I’m experiencing the same issue where app but a handful of mindful sessions have disappeared. At least I’m glad to know it’s not just me.

Yes, I have the same problem. I wrote another concern about this in a separate area of this forum. When I first bought my Fitbit back in November 2020 I had six or seven different options for free meditations. Now I only have one or two depending on the day as well. This upsets me too, thinking about getting something else. Very disappointed.  First I bought the watch and now they want us to pay a monthly fee for decent free meditations. They should let us control our meditation sessions so we can go out to the internet and listen to free ones but still log them if they aren't going to give us the free meditations. Something needs to be done to fix this.

Same on iPhone. This is not the first such experience I have had with FitBit, and the only way I would ever buy a FitBit again would be if FitBit publishes, maintains and commits to a clear, transparent chart comparing their Free and Premium services. Not doing so is the opposite of selling products and services which improve our health and well-being. It negatively affects health and well-being by causing distress when previously free services are taken away, frustration and invalidation when those changes are not communicated clearly and transparently, and disempowerment when our ability to make informed consumer decisions is negatively impacted. All of these things increase stress levels, which negatively impact health and well-being.

Someone was directed to post about this in "Frature Suggestions". Upvote to get it to the decision makers:

What should I know about premium.

One thing to add is that, because of COVID, fitbit offered some premium services for free. It is assumed at some point, these features will be moved back to premium.

For the future, with Google owning the company, paid services may be changing.

Thank you for the effort, Rich, but this link does not provide a clear, transparent or committed comparison of free vs premium services, which is what we deserve.

Soon they will charge for keeping steps. There are many fitness gadgets out there now, Fitbit is quickly becoming the bottom of the list.

As of today 9.25.22 there are zero mindful meditations available.

Same thing here @BeHereNow2023  Mindfulness sessions disappeared from the app for me also, immediately following the recent app update (Android).  I have cleared app data > signed out > uninstalled > re-installed > signed back in. Everything else appears to work fine, but the Mindfulness Sessions screen is blank, except for the stats chart at the top.

I just bought inspire 3, actived the premium, but no mindfulness session is showed
