I keep receiving this notification of "Periodic Check Listener" for my Flex. When I click on it, nothing happens so I'm not sure why I'm receiving this notification. Any thoughts?

@Kearnico, I appreciate you have replied to me with the screenshot requested. It seems this issue is only happening on Android devices, which is why I would like to ask you for some more information about your device to fully identify this issue:

  • Model of the phone you're currently using.
  • OS version running on your phone.

Thanks again for all of your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

At this moment I would like to advise you to restart your mobile device, this will remove this notifications in your phone and it should not appear again.

This fix doesn't work. I have a honour 8, android 7 and the up to date fitbit app.

I get this just before I get the error saying that it cannot forward notifications to my phone. I get this every hour or so which means the app is telling me to restart my phone every hour and the checking is killing my phone battery.

I have tried restarting, but reinstalling the app, but I resetting the watch, but I repairing the watch, playing with notifications, services a d things I have never seen before on the settings all to no avail.

I bought the new versa yesterday. It's great but I seriously considering returning it as this is simply good enough.

Hello @Mister_Neal, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. At this moment I would like to suggest you the following:

  • Make sure your phone is listed in our list of compatible devices.
  • Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  • Enable Notifications again in the Fitbit app.
  • Make sure the app is updated to the latest version.

Now, if you're still getting an error, please try the following:

  1. Log out from the app.
  2. Go to the list of apps on your phone and tap on Fitbit.
  3. Tap on Clear Cache
  4. Restart your phone
  5. Open the Fitbit app and check that Notifications are on.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Hi Marco. I have done this. A number of times. It only solves the problem for a short period. For example, this morning I got notification service has stopped messaging twice in 12 mins.

I don't t know what the issue is and I appreciate it's not your department but the net is riddled either this for. Your products. I suspect that the app checks the notification service every now and then and as often as not fails to find it and says a phone restart is needed. It's a bug that needs fixing or I'll certainly not be buying fitbit again. It's only because my product is new I'm giving it to you a chance to get fixed

Can I just add that last night I tried a factory reset if the watch and started from scratch. I had to reset the notifications at 7am, 709 and 741 this morning and now I cannot even get my watches, the watch gallery, my apps or app gallery to work in the app.

Decided to sell the product on. It simply does not work.

Hello @Mister_Neal, I hope you're doing well, thanks for joining the conversation. Smiley Happy

Judging by the information provided, it seems you're currently using a Versa or an Ionic, please note that we're currently experiencing some issues that are impacting several features like the App Gallery and clock faces and possibly Notifications too. Some people have reported that this issue has already been resolved, but this fix is still rolling out.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, please keep an eye on future announcements.
