Google Watch 3 - Floor Counter

Just got my google watch 3. Everything seems to be working correctly except the floor counter. Ive been up and down stairs and still the count says 0. Ive tried to power cycle the watch and hunt for any settings regarding floor counting ( which I cant find any). Any Tips or tricks would be appreciated

@Blackstatic42 There are so many things to update on a Pixel Watch! Are the Watch and Fitbit apps on your phone updated? How about the Fitbit app on the Watch? 

If that all looks good, clear the cache and data for the Fitbit app on your Watch. Restart the Watch again and continue to monitor that.

The Watch is looking for smooth, continuous motion along with a change in altitude. If you hesitate while walking up stairs, it may not count them.
