Google pixel 2 watch heart beat monitor

I've had the Google pixel 2 watch since October. During this time, the heart beat monitor and sleep tracker is worked once and only once. On Dec 3. Fitbit has told me they don't know how to fix their own products and sent me to Google. Google said it's beyond their scope and sent me back to Fitbit. I've been waiting for help since early Dec and entiehr side has a solution. I've reset, redoenloaded, read all the trouble shooting and I still have no resolution. I got the watch for sleep tracking and I have 3 hours of registered sleep SINCE OCT. I guess this is a me issues

Hi, @Badproduct2 , welcome to the community, I assume you have seen How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? You have not reported any other issue so I assume the LED on the back of your PW2 is flashing when it's on your wrist and the watch is not worn over a Tattoo or scar tissue.

You will have noted you need to be completely at rest and you haven’t moved for about an hour, for your device to record that you’re asleep. Are you a very restless sleeper?

As an experiment, I would suggest you ask a friend or family member to wear your PW2 for a few days (& nights) to see if it records sleep for them.

Let us know how you get on by posting here again.

Cheers

No one has mentioned tattoos. So it won't work if I have tattoos? Good to
know NOW.... looks like I'll be giving my money to Whoop. That works over tattoos. Wish I never bothered

Hi, @Badproduct2 , the Tattoo issue has been around for a long time & affects all HR sensors that use LED lights & sensor arrays. These devices time the change in colour of blood flow in the tiny blood vessels just under the outer skin layer where Tattoos deposit ink. Recent developments seem to reduce the effect, especially for lighter colours. Can you try wearing it on your other wrist?

I hope this helps.

Cheers

I'm tattoo everywhere. So not really. This is really something that should
be better known. I had a whoop and there was zero issues with my tattoos.
I'm disappointed
