Have to re-login frequently after message "Unable to send message"

The android Fitbit app keeps forgetting me and I have to log back in.  After entering my credentials, I get a pop-up saying "Unable to send message.  Please try again later".  I immediately attempt to login again and it works.  This happens frequently.

Sorry. I thought it was very obvious that I knew that.  People have also reported the battery draining issue in this thread, which is not common to everyone who is also experiencing the issue of having to log in every time.  I was replying to someone about the battery draining issue, which might be a separate problem

Hello everyone! Thanks to those that shared the requested information.

For the rest of the users that are eperiencing the same, would you be so kind to share the following information with me? In case anyone has experienced this situation in the last 24 hours, please share with me the time you had to log yourself back into the account. For those of you who have not shared your phone model, Fitbit app and Android version yet, that would also help with the investigation. We would also need you to grant us permission to check your account logs.

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your cooperation.

@RodrigoMFitbit the issue began for me as soon as I upgraded to a Samsung S24 Ultra using Samsung Smart switch to bring all my previous content to my new phone - approximately mid March. Android version 14, One UI 6.1, Fitbit app version 4.19. There is absolutely no time dependency to the issue - it will happen at any time of the day that I login.

I'm not sure how to share logs with Fitbit as you mention. Can you please clarify.

@67Healey Thanks for the swift reply and the requested information. I will share this with the team in charge. We just need your permission to check your account logs on our end; you do not have to send us anything. Thanks for your cooperation.

I switched to an S23 plus a few months ago, I don't remember exact date. I just had to re login at 9:21pm, tonight, and received the error message. It seems to give me the error once a day, the first time I open the app. I give permission to check logs. Android version 14. One UI 6.1. Fitbit 4.20.1

I've been getting this error message since I upgrade to a Galaxy S24+.  Android version  14. Fitbit app version 4.20.1.

I last got the message 8 minutes ago at 12:20 Australian Eastern standard time.  I am able to log in when I try a second time.

You have permission to access my logs

I broke the love on my fitbit where the strap snaps on (where I'd previously repaired it - it was just mysteriously pulling away) and have temporarily lost the little spring. I have not been able to use it for awhile. I just opened the app though to see if I could get version info (I didn't get it) and it's still behaving the same way.

Galaxy S24. Android version 14. One UI version 6.1.

You have permission to see my account logs, but there won't be anything there for about 3 weeks, until my attempted login today.

Had no issue with Samsung Galaxy S10 but after switching to zflip5 in December 2023 been experiencing the issue. Update to One UI 6.1 no change. Updated fitbit app recently to 4.20.1 and thought it might solve the problem but it happened again today. Description of issue: App Logged out, and when logging back in with fitbit ID get error "Unable to send message please try again later." Hit ok , signin with fitbit again and everything syncs again. Sceenshot below w/timestamp.

Has this been resolved??

I am having the same issue. I think Fitbit is trying to force us to use Google for signing-in.

Best Answer

Not resolved for me, and I gave permission to view my logs etc, and haven't been contacted directly, nor is it resolved.
