My Fitbit is not recording heart rate the last several days

That sounds very bothersome.

 

In this case I'd like to recommend that you check this help article. It includes some troubleshooting steps that could help you get the HR to show on your Fitbit. I'd also like to ask, what Fitbit is it that you are using?
