Hourly activity feature - new?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just noticed the Hourly Activity feature - I don't know if it's been there all along and I just haven't noticed it, or if it's new.

Is this customizable? That is, can I change the number of steps per hour it recommends (defaults to 250)? And is there any kind of prompt or reminder or notification? That is, if I'm getting near the end of an hour can my device (Charge HR) prompt me that the hour is almost up and I haven't hit my hourly goal yet?

I just noticed this morning that it has been added to my Surge and the android app. I thought it was available only for the Alta? Regardless it is new!

Is it actually going to tell me to move like the alta? I just noticed it this morning and got very excited!

I am loving this feature!  I have the Charge HR too, and it does not look like it will notify you when you're getting close to missing the target (it will on the Alta).  But in the android app if you click on it then you can adjust the times it monitors.  My workday is 7am to 4pm so I shifted the times to those hours.  Very cool!!

New for me too. Can't imagine we will get on tracker reminders without a firmware update... Didn't fibit say somewhere that this wasn't coming to the charge hr/surge? A U-turn?

I got mine too for my Flex, no update needed.  I just logged in this morning and it was there. Maybe the firmware update happened overnight?

I'm setting up alarms at 10 to the hour each hour...seeing if I've hit my 250 steps, if not I'll move. Kind of a work around for now

I have the one and haven't gotten it. Does anyone know if it's available for the One model Fitbit?

Hourly activity goals help you cut back on your stationary time throughout the day. They're available for all trackers except Fitbit One® and Fitbit Zip®

Why did they exclude the one?

Thank you for your participation in the forums everyone!

I'd like to address the reason why the Hourly Activity goals are not available for the Fitbit One and Zip; an answer to @taser8 @clevy19 @SoCalHeidiSmiley Happy

This is because the trackers with auto-sleep capability can accurately distinguish between Sleep Time and Stationary Time. If a tracker doesn't have this ability to distinguish, results for Stationary Time could be mistaken for Sleep Time, which results in indistinguishable data.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions Cat Very Happy

I am really enjoying this new feature! Is there a way to get alerts if it is close to the hour and I have not moved enough? If not, I can do the workaround someone mentioned (if I can figure out how to set the alarm for only my tracked hours on the Charge HR).

Thank you!

Are there plans to add a feature for the HR charge to notify us if not hitting the hourly activity goal? Thanks

Currently Reminders to Move is on the Fitbit Alta and we are also working to make it available in a future firmware release for the Fitbit Blaze, but we don’t have an estimated delivery date at this time.

I would really love to see this on my Surge as well, no option for it right now, just the setting in the app but no reminders.

My Charge and Android app doesn't seem to have this working. I walk all day at work, but my hourly activity says 0 out of 11 (hours I set for myself to be active on) while daily step score is 18k 😛

I was wondering if you can set different hours for different days? Like through the week my day starts at 6, but the weekend days start a bit later? So is there a way to set it from say 7am-8pm week days but 9am-10pm Saturday and Sunday?

Too bad about the hourly data excluded from the fitbit one.  My One works fine and I actually don't use it for sleep at all and if I did, I'd put it in sleep mode.  If I were to nap, or sit for a few hours knitting without any movement, it never shows up as time sleeping because I haven't put it in sleep mode.  I really wish this feature would be available with the One.  Don't want to think about buying a new fitbit...

I would like to put in a vote to add reminders to the next Surge firmware update also. Even though I stand all day, it's too easy to get wrapped up in work and forget to walk around!

Would realy like to see that feature added to the Fitbit Charge HR next firmware. I was so excited for the stationary time tile but totally disappointed that it didn't notify me to move without me having to set alarms or to look at the dashboard frequently.
