How accurate is the calorie expenditure

I'm curious how accurate the burned calories are on the app. I'm 205, 6'3. I work out everyday between 1 and a half to 2 hours a day. I do a HITT routine, 45 minutes to an hour on the elliptical and generally a spin class for about 30 minutes.

I'm a custodian, so I'm generally on my feet 13 hours a day. I average between 25k to 34k a day in steps. For example yesterday,I burned 6372 calories on 36, 406 steps.

My Amazon fit says I burn around 4000 a day. 2000 resting and 2000 exercise.  What is accurate?  I use macrofactor app and it tells me to eat 3500 calories a day to lose a pound a week. I am losing about .7lbs a week to maintaining.  What numbers should I use and does my fit bit app help with diet? It has a place for food and water intake

Hi, @Skovar, welcome to the community, you do not mention which Fitbit device (If any) you are using. I'm not familiar with Amazon Fit or how it works. The Fitbit app handles calorie burn in a rather sophisticated way & I encourage you to look carefully at How do I track my food with the Fitbit app? - Fitbit Help Center which provides a background & How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity? - Fitbit Help Center: I count calories using an alternative recording system and the Fitbit app. I find the daily results while not in lockstep are pretty close. My BMR is 2,300 calories a day & I typically burn between 800 & 1,000 more including a 3,750-metre swim in 100 minutes giving a total budget of between 3,000 & 3,300 calories a day. My burn is directly synced with the Fitbit app from a PW2 or Fitbit Lux. In the final analysis, accuracy is evidenced by stepping on the scales each day (If you can measure it you can manage it) I can confirm I lost & gained weight as expected while maintaining my present 71 kg.

I hope this helps, you will need to establish a daily routine and monitor results.

Cheers

Hi, @Skovar, thanks for the feedback. Your Inspire 2 will effectively generate your Calorie burn and sync the details to the Fitbit app on your phone.

Cheers
