How does the step count feature works?

I recently joined to fitbit and now I'm trying to find the best app which has step count feature.

I'm curious about how does it working. especially step detect.

it looks like this is working differently from other applications (like toss, pedometer and so on..)

Fitbit looks like detecting step count update without Foreground Service & Notifcation.

How does it possible?
