Does anyone know how can I  get the average sleep Hours back where it was I find the fitbit sleep score totally  useless. I had 5 hours 40 min sleep got a sleep score of 82 rated good "what the ?" How could that possibly be a good nights sleep!!!.  I just want to know my average hours for the week back where it was instead of the useless sleep score.

I agree the sleep score is useless and too emphasized. Who made that bad decision— that’s a huge miss!  Especially when it doesn’t tell how it is determined. I got 9 hours of sleep one night and it said it was rated  87 Good. Is it possible to get a 100 rating?  This is hugely subjective and bad!  We want this reversed!

It is a deliberate move not to explain the sleep score in hope that you will pay the premium to find out.

Like all the locked stuff on the discover page. Mind you my version of the app crashes if I look at discover or community pages so I can't be tempted anyway.

I’m surprised your blurb got posted.

I’m looking at Fitbit upgrade premium in trial for a week— only worth it if
you use the workouts and all the attributes. But it does not explain the
sleep rating at all! Again. A miss on their part I hope they change it soon

Fitbit should address this situation promptly. The issue would seem to be programming of software, and (as mentioned in a different reply) the sleep hours per week information is available on the same screen view if the customer logs on to their web account. How difficult would it be to give each customer the option of whether viewing average sleep score/week or average time slept per week is the default? Thank you.

Have been using Fitbit devices for north of 10 years - but I am seriously considering switching given the change in sleep scores. Does anyone have a recommendation of an Alta HR alternative that will help provide actual sleep hour averages?

I am also interested in others' recommendations. I don't do Apple stuff so
I may look into Garmin. I'm a little leery of the quality from the really
cheap Asian knock-offs.

Just did a quick check on Amazon and there's a fitpolo smart watch that seems to do a lot for under $50.  Still reading through the reviews and questions to see if it will meet my needs.

Would hate to leave Fitbit - if only we could get back the option to use hours or scores for sleep . . .

I'd actually be interested to see which other apps work with Fitbit and if not, find a free app that helps with better sleep tracking. If you find anything more about this let me know. I have yet to find a compatible sleep app that fits my eye...hopefully in the meantime, Fitbit will listen to the will of the users. Since this recent upgrade and more so this sleep score bs, I have decided that if worse comes to worse I will ignore the sleep score and just calculate my own sleep average. That tells me more than the sleep score ever will! I would also look at the weekly and daily breakdowns for Deep Sleep, REM sleep, and Light sleep. My sleep goal is now 6 1/2 hours so I need to keep that in mind when doing my assessment and calculations.

You sound like a techie junkie like myself. I would suggest we both do some homework to see what apps are comparable. GoogleFit or Runtastic...how do they work to improve sleep without a sleep score? If we need to use different apps like them to promote what's important for us. see what we can come up with. Runtastic actually allows Fitbit to work separately on their app for steps tracking, but I am still here for challenges and to touch base with others.

Bring back the average of hours you have slept in the whole week get this sleep score off there it's garbage.

I honestly don't think that by writing here what we want it would be enough for the devs to really think about it and take it seriously.
I think we should all go and vote for these two Feature Suggestions:

Mark, I agree the average number of hours of sleep is a better indicator of how I am feeling and functioning than the sleep score. I sign into FitBit online (not from my app) and can still see the sleep duration average.

The Hours in Sleep Stages  does not provide the average number of hours sleep in the week. This "scores" idea was a bad one, an botched attempt to some form of gamification. The average number of hours should be brought back (at least as an option. I bought the Fitbit 2 for exactly this purpose and am frustrated that I now have to manually calculate the average number of hours sleep.

Steve, I'm 100% behind you in this! And when I try to combine periods of sleep, in the case of having two sleeps the sleep quality goes down! I thought sleep was important to keep using the energy to keep going, but apparently not! I find that personally deflating and demoralizing! Not only that but how can you get a 4-hour sleep and score a 73 when you are getting 50-60% of your goal sleep? Not much on this app makes sense anymore!

Thank you. Any idea why that shows a meaningless "No Stages" stat (zero, of course) instead of a meaningful "Awake" stat?

I agree with what most people here are saying. My Fitbit also doesn't have a heart rate monitor though I paid enough for it! The average sleep score was one of the most useful features for me. BRING IT BACK!!!!!! Please 😟
