Fitbit Update: 7/23
Hello everyone!
We are aware of an issue that is currently preventing our Huawei users to receive notifications on their watches/trackers from their mobile phones, and encountering the error message "Notification service is not running."
We apologize for the inconvenience, and are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. We will update this thread as soon as we have more details on this fix, and appreciate your patience in the meantime.
You can confirm the steps to set up notifications and check troubleshooting instructions at How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

I sold my Versa Lite on eBay yesterday. Bought myself a Ticwatch instead

this has been ongoing for months, Fitbit should make buyers of Huawei aware of this.
Profit before customer service!!

Hello,
Has this issue been resolved yet?.
My tracker and app are both up-to-date and still have the same issue.
Can we please get some updates on when can we expect a fix. It's been too long now.
Appreciate a sincere response on this.
Thank you.

Thanks for posting this. For the time being, notifications are working fine for me.

Go to settings, apps, fitbit, storage, clear data and clear cache.
Then, go to settings, battery and disable both Power saving mode and Ultra power saving mode. Click App Launch (still in battery settings), then find the fitbit app to disable the manage automatically setting. Make sure auto-launch, secondary launch, and run in background are all enabled and click OK.
Fixed. It is not Fitbit, it is Huawai, they have very good battery efficiency settings and as such it kicks your fitbit off when it's draining too much power. Great, bar its severing the notifications. So once you've turned that setting off it will work fine.

I bought a Xiaomi POCO F2 PRO. It have the same problem. Workarounds suggested seems not to apply for this one.

I have to say, I know a few people post "fixes" on here claiming they work, and they might work. But only for a day or so and then the problem returns.
The issue is the app, there should be no need to go into the app or phone settings to adjust things, the app should cater for all this, but it doesn't. The app is rubbish and just doesn't work.
Again, there is no fix still or proper update from Hauwei. I suspect they aren't even working on a fix.

Strongly recommend you try something better, 10 months (at least) that this issue has been around. Took 8 months for them to "acknowledge it", by that I suspect Fitbit developers probably don't even have this on their radar.
Based on that, I suspect it could easily be a further 10 months if not longer until this is fixed, if it ever is fixed.

I am using Xiaomi - Redmi K30 5G, it even isn't Huawei brand but this issue still happen to me for several months, I don't know it's about the brand or the app so I hope developers can fix it then I could keep using my fitbit.

I had the same issue and got fed up, ended up returning the watch as I love my phone. What a shame for fitbit sense!!

It's a shame as Fitbit sense should have made it clear which devices it is compatible with or developed a patch to fix this problem. I wonder how many people have returned the watch after being left disappointed in the product. Hope this watch is a finished product soon because at the minute it's not. I like the watch but unfortunately it's not practical and not worth £299 when you have to fix it every day to work.

Any update as my versa too receives phone call notifications but not messages from my p40 Pro. Annoying isn't the word

Don't get your hopes up. They acknowledged the problem in July, 3 months ago, after the problem had been around for 9 months. Chances of them fixing it as a high as a termite attending university and finishing with a masters degree within 6 months.

No it doesn't.
I did this the day I received my Versa 3 and installed the app, and it worked fine for about a week. Now, if I want it to sync with my P20 Lite, I need to reboot the phone once or twice per day. It actually seems to be getting worse every day.
Since there are people with similar complaints that don't have huawei phones, I wonder how many phone brands are not supported by fitbit.
By the way, please keep in mind that Huawei phones are much more common in EMEA than they are in the US.

So still no response from Fitbit on this issue. Really disgustingly low level of customer service from this rip off brand. I was going to say it's been a year since it was first reported and still no fix, but then i found this topic on here from...
2018 where the exact same problem started!
