I can't log into Fitbit app on my phone

Hi,

I know this is/was a common problem and there are lots of topics about this issue. However, I tried every possible solution from "solved" topics and nothing works for me.

The problem is simple - I just bought Fitbit Charge 5 and I can't log into Android App. My phone is OnePlus Nord and it should be compatible. When trying to log into the app it just bounces me back to "Let's get started" screen, after I type my e-mail and password it loads for a brief moment and nothing happens - still "Let's get started" screen. There is no error message, it's just an infinite loop. I can only make more accounts, but can't actually log in...

Solution I tried:

-changing time and date to automatically set

-changing my password multiple times (doesn't make a difference, the app doesn't even check if the password is correct or not)

-force stopping the app multiple times

-clearing cache multiple times

-restarting my phone multiple times

-uninstalling the app multiple times

-using different Wi-Fi connections

-every possible combination from solutions listed above

Still nothing works. Is there a solution to this issue other than returning this band and moving to one with actually working companion app?

So, quick update.

I managed to resolve the issue through chatting with support - as it turns out app works, but I have to unsuccessfully "log in", then force stop the app, turn off my internet connection, turn it back on, press the app icon and I'm magically already logged in. If I turn my connection off however, I'm logged out and I have to do it all over again.

So the app works, but it's frustrating. Issue is semi-solved.

Hi @SBR21  Android 10? According to the specs on your phone, it's actually OxygenOS, which is a form of Android 10. Not sure if that makes any difference, but it might. Just as Amazon tablets are a version of Android, but it's a Fire OS. click for your phone's specs. You might want to ask customer support about this.  https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US

I've got an update to Android 12 a week ago, with latest version of OxygenOS 12.1

What's funny - I've just checked if I can log into the app on another phone, two or so year old Motorola 5G something or another, running almost stock Android 11. Of course - app worked like a charm.

So the older phone isn't the one you use every day, right? You check with support to see what they say?

@Odyssey13 , Thank you for your messages and help.

@SBR21 , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message, information and for describing what you already tried.

I'm not quite familiar with OXIGENOS 12. Do you have access to Google services on that device/ OS?

Have you checked on the Fitbit app settings that is allowed to use your internet connection?

See you around.
