Hey Fitbit community,
I've got my new phone Samsung S25 when I tried to pair it with my Charge 6 (previously paired with Samsung S8) I can enter the 4-digits number, but then it fails with "Something went wrong. An error occurred. Please try again." message.
I removed user data on my Charge 6, so now it looks like a brand new setup, that didn't help. My old phone can't install Fitbit app anymore, so I can't try to pair it back with it. Any attempt to pair with another gmail account exactly in the same way.
Support suggested to wait for 1.61, which is not available in my region Ukraine.
So looking for any ideas on how to get my Charge 6 back in service..

Hello @SunsetRunner! Welcome on board to our community forums!
I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to pair your Charge 6.
Since you mentioned your old phone, I suggest you check that its Bluetooth is turned off, as it may interfere with communication between your Charge 6 and your new phone.
Addiotionally verify all the requirements in the following help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
Thanks for suggestion. My old phone is completely turned off, so it shouldn't be an issue.
Best AnswerYou really made things harder for yourself. When switching phones. On the new phone. Load the fitbit app, log into your Fitbit account. Your Charge 6 will show up as connected. The app will ask for permissions to grant and you are setup.
If you did not remove the Charge 6 from the old phones Fitbit App. The above will work. No 4 digit code will be needed.
If you simply cleared data, and not removed the Charge 6, the Charge 6 should still be connected to your Fitbit Account, and show up when you logged into fitbit.
OK, the tracker has been removed from your Fitbit account.
While I changed phones my google/Fitbit account remained the same.
I did not remove it from old phone. If I remove the Fitbit app completely and then login with my google account I see the Charge 6 in Devices list. But Pair Now fails with "Couldn't pair", sync icon fails, and adding new device fails after 4 digits.
Best AnswerSince you already cleared the Charge 6, this is most likely a compatibility or Bluetooth handshake issue with the new S25. First, make sure Bluetooth is fully reset on the phone. Turn Bluetooth off, restart the S25, then turn it back on before trying again. Second, go into Phone Settings → Apps → Fitbit → Storage and clear cache (and data if needed), then uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app fresh from the Play Store. Also check in Bluetooth settings that the Charge 6 is not showing as a previously saved device. If it is, remove/forget it before pairing again. Sometimes disabling battery optimization for the Fitbit app helps:
Settings → Battery → Background usage → Allow unrestricted for Fitbit. If support mentioned firmware 1.61, it does sound like a regional rollout issue. In that case, pairing may simply fail until that firmware/app version becomes available in your region.
I was glad to see that you had been using the S8. I like the simplicity of my S9. I'm able to see my Fitbit info on 2 phones & do not do the updates until they've been out for 6 months. Make sure to be on wifi when setting up.
