Inaccurate GPS Tracking on Map

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My last several runs have had weird maps for my GPS tracking. It's either a single point at my start or finish location, or a very short line between my start and finish points.

In all cases, the total distance tracked seems accurate, it's just that the path I took is not reflected accurately (or at all) on the map. But I'm wondering if GPS is even working correctly, or if it's just estimating my distances based on number of steps.

I track my runs by starting a "Run" workout on my Charge 2, synced to my phone. I verify that the connection is successful by looking at the little phone icon on my Charge 2 display before I start running. There are no other issues with my phone's bluetooth or GPS connections.

I am currently running version 3.3.1 of the Android app, and my Charge 2 has firmware version 22.22.58.0.

I just started having inaccurate results like this today. They look closer to my actual ran route; however, large chunks of the area where I ran are missing. The stats look right but the map is wrong.

I also have this issue with the Inspire HR. As you can see from this screenshot comparing walks on the same route, this didn't used to be a problem. Now my routes appear to be zigzagging all over the place, yet all I'm doing is walking around the park.

I just took another walk around the park today and the tracked route is all over the place. At one point I opened Pokémon Go, which also uses the GPS, and then checked the Fitbit app. At that point, my route on the Fitbit map was more accurate. I don't know why that worked, but I don't want to have to keep Pokémon Go open all the time just to make sure Fitbit logs accurate routes.

Using a Charge 3.

I tried same thing with different GPS app. Thought it helped, but eventually problem reoccurred...

This is a real bug in Fitbit app... Been like this for months now. I’ve tried multiple phones, same issue. Everything is up to date. No environmental issues with GPS reception. All my other GPS apps on same phone work great.
