Hey everybody. I'm 68 in apparently according to FB my average heart rate is 89 for about a one hour bike ride. It also says that's 100% below target? Does that sound about right to you guys?

Thanks

@westsidesteve   What model Fitbit do you use?  Some models report active minutes and some report active zone minutes.  Active minutes use the 220 - age = maximum predicted heart rate, then calculated the zones.  Active zone minutes use an equation that uses your resting heart rate as part of the calculation.

I am 66 years old.  The active minute equation starts my fat burn zone at 77.  My resting heart rate is usually 47-48.  The active zone minute equation starts my fat burn zone at 89.

I calculated the start of the zone minute fat burn zone for a 68 year old with a resting heart rate of 65 (a nice, healthy number).  The fat burn zone starts at 100 bpm.  If you wear a Fitbit that calculates active zone minutes, that 89 bpm heart rate will be below zone.

Hi there. Thanks. I moved up from the charge to the versa 2.  I think my resting heart rate is about 62 Or thereabouts.

Yesterday after a little over an hour I only had 2 minutes In fat burn mode  and the rest below zone with an average BPM of 91.

I guess it really doesn't matter what the machine says as long as I do it. Hah.

Hello! I have a similar problem. I figured the watch is too loose on my wrist whenever it has dificulties measuring the right heart rate. I did an exhausting bike ride this morning and the watch said that I was below target. Can't be right.

Cheers!
