My app lagged slightly when I opened my friend request from my significant other, and I accidentally hit ignore as the buttons appeared, now we can not send friend requests to each other at all. The notification is also gone. I checked my block list and they are not on it. Help?

I appreciate the troubleshooting performed prior to posting. It's not possible to un-ignore a friend request, however the person can send the notification again as it was ignored and you should be able to add him.
Also, you could try adding him by doing the following:

We've tried this multiple times, it will not resend the request no matter which one of us sends it.

@adepta Thank you for getting back.
In this case, let's try the following troubleshooting:
- Log out from the Fitbit app
- Clear the app cache
- Restart your phone
- Log back in and try to send the request again
If you're still unable to send the friend request, let me know if you receive any error message or if when entering the email address the user doesn't appear.

Have your friend send you a link to their profile page.
Or this is your profile page page, you can send this link to your friend.

Then tap on Add friend. The friend will have to approve.

Have tried both of your suggestions, thank you, but we are still unable to send a request to each other. I have now tried the site as well as the app with the same results.
I am not getting an error message.
Trying to add by email does not work either, it never sends the email.
