Issues with sync on Inspire HR

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got the inspire HR fitbit one week ago and finding that it's only synching some of the times, e.g. during the day is fine but mornings/evenings it won't sync.

I have already tried turning Bluetooth on and off, closing the app, refreshing but the only thing that works is turning the phone on and off.

Welcome to the Forums @ker93.

Thanks for listing all of the steps that you have already tried to get your Fitbit to sync.

I'd like to help you make sure that it all starts syncing at all times, without any hiccups. While you have already tried most of them I'd like to ask you to try going through all of the steps listed in this help article in the order that they show up. That should do the trick.

In the meantime I'd like to ask you what phone are you using and also if you have set up notifications with your Fitbit or not.

I look forward to your reply.

Hi,

Thanks for coming back to me. I tried all of those steps in that order, still no luck. I had all the right settings switched on and both the app and my phone are up to date.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S9 and notifications are turned on.

Thanks

Hello @ker93.

Thanks for trying the steps I suggested and sharing those details.

In this case it could be related to a known issue about Android 9 causing syncing issues with the Fitbit devices. There are some other steps that could get it to work. Let's try to turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.

Then, disable battery limitations:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization
  2. Change view to All apps
  3. Search for Fitbit app
  4. Choose Not optimized

Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions I can help you with.

I am having the same issue about every three or four days!  I change nothing on my phone or sync options it just stops syncing for a day or more.   I have followed all the instruction to make it work.  Thinking about returning the Inspire HR- this is very very frustrating.  It seems to be an issue for others as well.

Welcome to the Forums @sylviafu.

Thanks for sharing the details on the situation that you have tried.

In this case I'd like to ask what phone is it that you are using at the time to sync your Fitbit. That could shed some light into what is going on.

I look forward to your reply.
