Logged activity immediately vanishes

Hi

I'm adding a logged activity on my phone after deleting a recorded walk (on pixel watch 3) that went to long. It shows for a second in my exercise circle but then disappears.

Tried closing app, rebooting phone etc. online advice is to log out of app but don't have that option any more.

Any assistance appreciated.
