Macronutrients and nutrition facts not matching

The macronutrient section says for today I have had

158g carbs

58g fat

96g protein

But if I click on nutrition facts for today it says I have had

121.7g carbs (15.1g fibre, 24.6 sugar)

177.3g fat (45.4g saturated fat)

61.8g protein.

Why are these so wildly different? (The nutrition facts one is wrong)

I'm having the same issue. I'm newly tracking my sodium intake, which isn't on the Food screen - though a calorie "budget", which I really don't want, is up top. Having the Nutrition Facts be off like this makes it more difficult to use. I am able to see it properly using a browser, but really do need it right on the app.

Right now I don't even have a Nutrition Facts output, since I created a new food (McDonald's fries, which have incorrect nutrition facts in the database).

Also would be good to have some oversight on the database - I have to check *everything* because so many items are incorrect, ambiguous, or duplicated with different nutrition facts.

I think I need to do this...my nutrtional values arent matching serving sizes....but I cant lose my data ...if I uninstall/reinstall will the data all come back?

Thanks for raising this! The same thing happens to me. I hope this issue can be resolved? It would be good to know which page is 'correct'/ that I focus on for the meantime. The nutrition facts page or the macronutrients section of the general page?

I had noticed before on individual food items nutrition info that the app had not adjusted the macros based on servings entered so this completely makes sense.  Thanks for the clarification with screen shots! Super helpful!

This did not fix it. Your team needs to fix this.

This issue still persists. I see it as well. I just started using nutrition tracking yesterday. I am using Pixel 3a, running android 11, app updated.

Same issue on Samsung galaxy S21 although device has nothing to do with it, clearly.

Please fix the app!

Came here after discovering this just now. As a software developer myself, this is painful. Intern level bug that never should have made it past QA.

To reiterate, you're not prorating nutrition info by serving size, so anything logged as anything but the default size is wrong. In the case of a custom food entry for a whole tray of brownies which I then log by ounces with a scale, shockingly wrong.

I've just noticed that on the app page for food tracking, my macros are way off - it's claiming I've eaten 100g more protein than I've entered, which is really strange. How I'm getting that much protein from a cup of tea, I can't imagine. And yes, I've tried all the usual Charge 4 fixes - force closed the app, uninstalled, checked the OS is up to date, reinstalled, rebooted etc. Anyone else having the same problem?

Update:

Still not fixed, and it's ridiculous. I'd never have bought this if I knew the app wasn't fit for purpose.

I've been using myfitnesspal for the past several weeks because of this
issue with fitbit. myfitnesspal syncs both directions with fitbit so it is
working for now. It is a little inconvenient (especially all the ads, no ad
version is $20 month subscription) though doable for now.

How can this still not be fixed? Does nobody at FitBit care? Seriously guys your entire nutrition component of your platform is broken in a really simple way and after almost a year you've done nothing about it?

Best Answer

It is truly unconscionable. I mean, we're talking about one of the core functions of the app and it's a matter of fixing simple mathematic calculations. I will never buy another Fitbit.

It's infuriating because it's such an obvious error, even to the most casual user. Surely not hard to fix with an update? And the complete lack of response here does suggest they just don't care about functionality once they've got your money.

Mine is in serious error and now that I see it's been an issue for quite some time with no resolution, I guess I'll have to move onto another app. The current situation isn't useful to me at all and, honestly, calls to question any of the other data Fitbit provides me.

It was working fine since I started using the app last yr in July. Now since the app updated the nutrition numbers are way off. Has anyone figured out a way around fixing it or everyone still dealing with the issue?

I love the app so far but I use it mostly to keep track if my nutrition for my doctor. I hate to go to another app or watch if this problem isn't resolved soon

This is still affecting me today.

In the 1st pic I created food 100g basis, 2ndly I selected food changed amount to 20g, then checked Nutrition facts:

Fats, Cholesterol ...all have extremely high calculated values?? Calories Calculation is OK

I don't think they actually even have a dev team anymore to fix bugs. There's just no other explanation for the complete lack of action on this. What a joke.

I have given up on Fitbit's customer service to fix this issue.  They have not addressed this issue and it has gone on way too long.  I no longer use their food tracking as it is completely unreliable.  After trying some other apps I have found one that is far superior to anything Fitbit offers.  I now use Cronometer.  It is so informative!  I used Fitbit for so long and dealt with constant disappointment I forgot what using a reliable company with great customer service feels like.  I have a renewed interest in tracking my numbers again.  I am using their free app which tracks not only calories, protein and fats but also all of your nutrients, vitamins and minerals.  I needed fiber and iron which Fitbit could not do correctly and now I am tracking everything possible with great accuracy.  I would highly recommend you try them out if you care about tracking your food.
