Manually Adding Floors Climbed that Fit Bit Missed?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
Hi

Relatively new to the FitBit HR but have noticed that my band doesn't always register every time I go upstairs. Could FitBit add a function under the Floors heading to manually adjust the floors climbed so you end up with a more accurate reading? Does anyone know a way round this? Should I wear the band with the gizmo underneath my wrist? Or do I just own a glitchy wrist band?

Hi, @Calonaur44 , the Fitbit needs to detect a rise in elevation of at least 10 feet, combined with continuous movement, in order to detect a floor.  10 feet is meant to be a compromise between a business and domestic floor.  Many modern houses do not have staircases that rise quite high enough to register a floor.  In addition, some people find that if they are using a wrist tracker and carrying something, floors do not register.

If you are concerned that your Charge HR is not registering floors correctly, a good way of testing is to go to a nearby office building or mall and go up two flights and check that the CHR registered them.  If not, please check that nothing (e.g. sweat or dust) is blocking the little hole on the side of the CHR (that's where the altimeter is). Also it might be helpful to give your device a restart .

The ability to add floors manually is currently not a feature, but you might like to check out this (and several similar) feature request

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the Community!
