I've been using Mobile Tracker to count steps for the past few days, and I noticed that the number I get from the phone's pedometer (in Samsung Health) is different from the number that appears in the Fitbit app. (I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone, so everything should be compatible.)
Today, for instance, Samsung Health shows that I have 10,320 steps, but the Fitbit app shows only 9,051. (My Fitbit is broken, so the phone is the only source of steps right now.) That's a pretty big difference.
I'm curious if anyone else has found the same kind of discrepancy. Any idea why the numbers would be different or which one is more accurate?

Hello @Kalnel.
I'll be happy to help you figure out what is going on.
It is very possible that the discrepancy could be because there are differences in the algorithms used to track the steps. The very best way to test the accuracy would be to manually count your steps with the phone on your pocket and see which one got closer to the number of steps you manually counted.
Let me know if there are any further questions.

My personal experience is that FitBit gives 20% more steps than actually taken using Mobile Tracker, Pedometer Step Counter, or Samsung Health. The 3 phone apss are right on my step count and agree with each other 0.01%.
For me, FitBit is useful for comparing day to day but with the knowledge that 10,000 steps is really just 8,000 steps.😔
