Fitbit Update: 9/26/17
Hello, everyone! I wanted to make it known that I haven't forgotten about this issue with MobileRun. Our team is aware of this ongoing problem, however, I don't have a timeline for when there will be a fix available. I understand many of you are frustrated with this feature, and I hope to give you all more information soon. Thanks for your continued patience!
Just to be clear, this thread is for the MobileRun issue for when you initiate a Run/Walk, if you 'Pause' your activity and then 'Resume' after you finish, you will not see your map or some of your exercise data. Alternatively, this does not happen if you 'Pause' and 'Finish' your Run/Walk right away.
Fitbit Update: 7/20/17
Thanks everyone for providing the information requested about this MobileRun issue. It appears since the Android app version 2.43, users who initiate a MobileRun on their devices and later pause it at some point will not have all the data saved when syncing afterward. This data can include the map and distance data.
I really appreciate your cooperation and patience while our team works towards a resolution. I know many of you have been active on this thread and I want to make sure you know all your input has been very helpful in determining the factors. I will continue to update this thread when there is more information available. Thanks again for your help!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one this is happening to. It's a real shame, too, because the one time I was able to get a map to save, it was so much better than the wiggly maps I used to get on Runkeeper. I dearly hope that this gets solved soon. It's extra frustrating, because when I then try to manually add the activity so I can get credit for having the correct number of days of weekly exercise, it then adds steps to my actual step count.

Also, how are people hitting "Finish" without first hitting "Pause"? I've just tried a few test walks through the house, and I have to hit "Pause" before I can finish.

Thanks! I definitely hit Pause more than once because my phone is a **ahem** and I couldn't tell if it was lagging or just not registering my touch (both times, the answer was "both"). I've got a better phone on order, so hopefully I'll be able to use this workaround when it comes in.

I have been using a Fitbit Zip for a few weeks and I've noticed that the exercise tracking function doesn't work correctly about a third of the time on my android app. It still keeps track of my steps and active time, but it doesn't track the route I take on walks. I have tried checking my account on the desktop browser as well, and it isn't there either.

I've been using the "track exercise" for months now without issue using my android until last week when I had to update it to a newer version (version 2.46 - 2183114). It shows me my splits and all the relevant information but then totally disappears and doesn't save on my phone or even the dashboard. To be clear, the steps are recorded...but the map and splits completely disappear.
I've tried it with the "auto detection" for walking on and off to try to test it out. No change.
Any ideas/help?
Thank you

Hi all,
Recently got a Fitbit Charge 2 and am liking it so far. I went for a 6km hike today, so I used the Android app to manually track the exercise with GPS. At the end of the hike, I finished the tracking on the app and got the GPS plotted on the map with splits and all that good stuff. Went back to the dashboard, got in my car and drove home.
At home, I curious to see the stats from my hike. Loaded the web app and it showed as a walk. The calorie burn was there and heart rate etc. but no GPS map. I have since noticed a notification on my phone which says that Smartrack has automatically detected an exercise! I do hope that this hasn't overwritten my stats from the manually tracked hike I did.
Any ideas how I can get this back?

@TheBoyCanFly amd @don1000 of you where using the Fitbit app to tecord your events, did you giys by any chance press pause? Pressing pause will cause the GPS map from being saved.

@Rich_Laue. I did press pause half way around to have a snack. Does this also apply to the split information? It's good to know, thanks.

That's a good point; I only got the finish button when I had paused. So how are you supposed to do it without pausing?
I just use the actual fitbit device to do the tracking. Will steer clear of manually using the mobile app.

@TheBoyCanFlyThose of us that are having success with the MobileRun feature only push the pause button then hold Finish and get the green flash. It's when you pause and continue all is lost at the end.
Many of us have noticed when you push the Finish at the end and if get a display message that "Fitbit App has stopped" you will never get a synced mapping. We then take a screen snapshot before syncing. Pace will be zero
There is another topic where some users are getting no maps synced even though they have only paused once. I presume this is the link you posted into yesterday. Was this the same issue..?

My app was just updated to 2.47. There's nothing in the changelog about this particular bug, so I'm assuming it's still not fixed - has anybody tested it?

@QuppaThanks for the message, just went to the App store and updated.. Will test and advise later..
There is a simple update note there now at this link

@Quppa I realise this note isn't pertinent to the MobileRun issue but pop-up times and durations are implemented for sleep in App 2.47.

@Colinm39 The initial problem that I had was that the map and pacing information had gone from my hike. I can only assume the whole hike didn't sync, because I got a notification saying that the smart track had detected a walk, and that's what I saw in my dashboard. So all was not 100% lost at that point as I could still see a record of the walk.
That post you linked to was first created in the dashboard forum because it did not relate to the Android app, but more a general cloud account error. The walk that had been created by smart track, that was in my dashboard for 1 day all of a sudden just disappeared. I can only assume a moderator moved the post into the Android forum because it had the word Android in the post.
