My Samsung Galaxy J3 not sending notifications to Alta HR

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Samsung Galaxy J3 worked fine with my Fitbit Alta and sent notifications no problem at all, Phone Calls and Texts, then it stopped working, I tried every way I could find from the community to fix it so Yesterday I took it back and got a refund, today I bought the more modern Fitbit Alta HR, its loaded up ok, BUT It will not send me notifications ??, Has anybody any ideas? It was a present for my wifes birthday so i really want t to work for her, I cant understand how it could be working on the Alta for ages then suddenly stop. I have checked my phone on the Fitbit listing to see if it is compatible with my Samsung Galaxy J and it says that it is, I have done all the setting up as i did with the Alta that stopped working but it will still not send me buzz notifications, PLUS when I go into notifications on my Fibit App it does not show what is shown on these community pics as setting up. In the notifications on my Dashboad when you open them show. Calls, (On). Messages (Gives a list of 4) I have checked the circle on my default 'Messages' then the last one, Calendar Default App. Checked. I then sync but it still will not send notifications ??

Thanks All.

Hi there @Tankie1rtr, thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community! I was reading you are experiencing issues with the notification features using first the Alta and recently the Alta HR.

One of the crucial parts of the notification is that your tracker is able to maintain a constant connection with your Bluetooth. If this is not happening, notifications and other function may not work as is intended. I would recommend to review the following post to address this issue and see if there is something additionaly to try: My tracker isn't receiving notifications (Android Fitbit app).

Also during this week a new version of the app will become available, so make sure to update your Fitbit app: Android app version 2.67 is now available - 2/27.

You are right the Galaxy J is compatible, but if you are using the Galaxy J3 to sync your tracker along with the notification feature; keep in mind it might not work as is expected. This phone was declared as not compatible recently, so we cannot guarantee the behavior of the app since is not optimized for this phone model.

See you later.

Wow okay been beating me and my new phone up trying to have it send notifications to my one year old fit bit, and just read, it's not comparable with the j3. Had an old samsung it worked just fine with. Well at least the app works. Just won't send notifications. I downloaded the fit bit notification app, going to see if I can get it to work
