My experience with Google/Fitbit Ecosystem

Maybe I'm the outlier with my opinion, but let me share my thoughts.

I run a full unmodified Google stack: Pixel, Pixel Watch, Pixelbook, etc., so I would assume this is a good ecosystem for the app to work well in.

Here are the things that make me sad:
- Android 15/Nutrition Data Issue: This is the issue that got me to create a community account, so let's start there. I can no longer see all nutrition data for daily food intake or foods. I use the app to track heart health and I can't see saturated fat. This needs a hot patch.

- Web Browser Access: As far as I can tell there is no website to long in to track or view Fitbit data. This is silliness. Phones aren't the only way people use technology. Sometimes, people use a laptop or a dreaded desktop, and I would login to enter foods and view my health status.

- Disjointed and Confusing Fitbit/Google Ecosystem: Yay, Google bought Fitbit, this will be great because I've standardized on Google and integration and data will be magical. Nope. We're left with, as far as I can tell, a bunch of cobbled to together apps that integrate in a confusing web of connectivity. I can't figure out what data is going in what direction and even what some of the apps are. If I successfully think I figured something out and the data is flowing, my phone then like to throw up permissions issues every now and then.

Data Access: There is no easy way to see a macro view of several of the data points within the system. If I want to see nutrition data per day, I need to go into each day to view it. I can see macro nutrition, but something as simple as "show me my saturated fat intake over x amount of time" is not possible. To track this I need to enter each day and manually copy it to a Google Sheet. Really? I though I found the magic answer, so I played IT bro for a minute and went down the settings rabbit hole to get a Google data export. 4 days later, I go my compendium of health data in PITA formatting that didn't have the data I was looking for. Or maybe it was there, I dunno.

Food Data: Why to "Common" food not allow you to see the nutrition data. Avocado, for example. I don't care what BRAND my avocado is. Does it matter? It's an avocado, right? Size of a pear, ugly, etc... I don't want to scroll through 30 different brands to find one that has the viewable nutrition data when the "Common" one is right at the top.

Third-Party Integrations: Baffling. I buy reputable and well review brands and the baffling integrations and spiderweb of permissions in the app/phone create a headache. I bought a scale and integrated recently and I fiddled with it for about an hour to get the data to get to the app.
Help!: Where is the help button. I looked in the app to report my issue and can't find anything. Then I was like, lemme go to Google One, that I PAY for an enter a request there, like I used to. Nope, I can't find the help button anywhere. Oh well.

If you made it this far thanks for reading. I just think that people that purchased these apps, tech, memberships deserve a little more than what we're getting her. If this was a startup company, I'd say it's growing pains, but honestly, I can't think of any excuses not to provide us with a streamlined and intuitive ecosystem. Basic functionality and quality of life issues should be the thing I'm dealing with on a daily basis.
