New Account/User, Can't login to app

Hi! I'm a new Fitbit user, and I've been having trouble with logging into the app specifically. For context:

 

-I have a Samsung Galaxy A71 phone, up to date

-I've verified my new account (clicking through the email, ect)

-I have been trying to log in on an up to date Fitbit app. I've also uninstalled/reinstalled several times.

-I can log into the website just fine. I've double checked that my login info (email/password) are correct

-I've done things like clear the app cache, force stop, restart my phone, ect.

-I've also cleared app cache > forced stop > uninstalled > reinstalled > restart phone (in that order), that hasn't helped either

-I've tried on both my home network connection, as well as my mobile data

-I'm not getting any errors or messages when trying to log in. The loading icon just spins around for a couple of seconds, and then goes away. Additionally, this happened when I created my account through the app as well (I filled in my information like name/weight/height/ect, the loading icon spun for ~5 minutes, and then stayed on the same page with no change)

 

Any help I can get would be much appreciated. Thank you, and I can't wait to finally get logged in and start using my Fitbit!

I watched a video of setting up a new Fitbit account through the app (this one to be exact), and I want to point out that everything past the screen entering your personal info I didn't get.

 

I entered in my name/height/weight/ect, and instead of taking me to a new page, it had a loading spinner but kept me on the same orange page as before. Tapping "Continue" again gave a pop up with a message saying that an account was already made, or something to that effect (I'm sorry I don't have the exact error message on me). I wasn't presented with a device connection, a "Nice" setup finished page, premium offer, ect.

 

Could this be part of why I'm having trouble logging in? What can I do to fix it?

Hi @capric0rnus - thanks for posting your great troubleshooting, there does seem to be an issue when creating an account and logging in with the Fitbit App, and adding a watch.

 

I've had these issues too, with invalid password, account exists, password already used, etc. etc. Not a good experience when it can sometimes work in the browser.

 

Got around it once by logout of the Fitbit App and clear cache force stop, swipe off active window, restart phone and suddenly it worked.

 

Sorry not to have a better solution other than setting up another account if persistence or patience doesn't work.
