New Sleep Schedule Feature

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I read that there is a new feature included for the Alta that you can set your Sleep Schedule and it will remind you to go to sleep. (I so need this! :D)  The website says for the Android to go to Accounts and Goals will be there, but all I see are Badges, Trophies and Friends.

Did I just not get a needed update yet?

I'm using the Android app and an Alta and have run into the same problem.  I set my bedtime reminder for 10:30 pm every day and have yet to be reminded.... And I thought this was going to be a terrific idea because I'm horrible at getting to bed when I planned to!

RDawnD, I'm also using the Andriod App and an Alta and have found that the reminder is only sent as a notification through the Fitbit app on my phone. Hopefully Fitbit will put out an update for the Alta to receive the notifications from the Fitbit app on our phones. It seems silly that my friends can cheer/taunt me & the bedtime reminders are only sent to our phone and not the Alta itself. Isn't this part of the reason we chose to by the Alta? for the notifications to be on our wrist instead of having to carry around our phone?

Cheers to all! #HappyStepping!

Hi @Kristen42

In the Fitbit App (Android), tap the sleep tile. There's a new message 'set your sleep schedule' - get started. Tap 'get started' and follow on screen instructions or tap the gear icon at the sleep log page (next to the plus sign) in the upper right corner to be able to set the sleep goal / target sleep schedule & bedtime reminder.

It's also possible to go to the account page in the app, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, tap 'settings', by goals tap 'sleep'.. this opens the same page as when tapping the sleep tile..

I just got a notification on my Android app that told me that I could set the ideal hours for going to sleep on my dashboard. I can't find that anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

@LucyZano @RDawnD Heads up, I've moved both of your posts from the iOS forum to a relevant Android thread to help keep everything on the Community organized.

The bedtime reminder comes in the form of a push notification on your mobile device, click here for more information. I'd recommend making sure that you have push notifications enabled on your mobile device too.

Keep me posted if this helps!

Make sure you're running the latest version first. Then you need to add it under the sleep tracking page by using the gear. I'm using the Blaze and it only alerts on my phone (Samsung S5). It shows up in the notification drawer, but nothing prominent, nothing ongoing, no vibrating, and nothing on my blaze. What a waste of a feature.

Hi @Kristen42 @Blushard please follow these steps below to find the Sleep Schedule settings:

  1. Under Account, tap the three buttons on the upper right.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sleep.
  4. Tap the target you want to set or edit.
  5. Select the new time and tap OK. To delete the target, tap Remove.

@RDawnD @LucyZano this is expected behavior - the reminder to go to sleep is only on your phone - not on your tracker. Hope this helps!
