New account with already existing data?

I've just installed the Fitbit app, and created my account with a non-Google e-mail address. Once in the app, it says that I already burned 1,481 calories today, and it also seems to have 1,569 calories burned for every day of every year all the way back to 2009. If I try displaying before 2009 the app seems to stall on loading data.

I haven't connected any device to the app, and it's the first time ever using the Fitbit app. Is this usual behaviour?

Hi @dirk6824  actually, that's normal behavior. I know it sounds funny, but once you set up an account, it lists burned calories based on your gender and height. It won't hurt the stats you'll accumulate of steps and such.

Thanks a lot for your input. I figured as much, the number was too exact, and today's value kept increasing steadily every few seconds. I guessed it's estimating a base metabolic rate. It's odd that the developers considered it useful to autofill values in the past, but maybe there's a development restriction they can't work around.
