Can anybody help? Doesn't even connect via bluetooth.

Do you still have your old phone? If so, make sure it doesn't still have a connection to the fitbit in its bluetooth settings as this could be blocking the connection to your new phone.

Thanks...halfway there. Verse now syncs with my new phone and I've unpaired it from my old phone. However, I'm no longer getting whatsapp/message notifications from my new phone to my fitbit. Can anybody help with this one?
