Can't  get to clock face. Just the blue diamond telling me to download app. Watch won't show up.

That's all your fitbit will display until you have been through the setup process. 

 

If you have done this and it's still showing that message then try the setup process again: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1873/
