No longer see any steps in history

I can no longer see what happened on previous days. The last full day I can see stepping back through previous days is Aug 26th, 2024. Aug 27th only shows 852 steps. Every day after that show a "0" for everything except the current day. I can manually sync and the current day will show the correct step count, but the next time I go into the app it will show "0" again. I tried updating to the most recent version of the app, but the behavior is the same. The message with the weekly summary appears correct, but the app appears to be broken.  Oddly, for one day this week (Tuesday or Wednesday) the app appeared to display history and weekly and monthly totals correctly.  Sadly, it soon reverted to the broken behavior...

I figured this would happen sooner or later. I won't buy a watch so I guess
fitbit and I will part ways. 🙁
Thanks for the update.

What is the source that says Fibit/Google are killing off the One?

How about you read these comments and judge for yourself.

Every time someone contacts Fitbit all they get is crickets. They did the same thing with the Ultra.

The One Forum is no longer supported, ever since the end of August the App deletes data at midnight.

Hint: The One is dead, they just will not tell anyone.

Yep. Much as I hate to agree you are right. Whatever happened to the company that supplied and profited on what the customer wants? Instead of trying to decide for the customer what they want.

I have just finished looking into devices that are "clipable" from Fitbit.

The closest, and the one I will probably go with, is the Charge 6. It starts out as a watch but there are clips available that allow you to use it as a simple pedometer. Hopefully, it will sync with the Fitbit/Google Servers.

I do not need/want GPS, Heart rate, blood O2, YouTube, Google Maps etc. I just want something that will count steps and that I can slip into my pocket and get on with life. Unfortunately, it only works with a Google account, so I will have to create a throwaway account so the "do no evil" corp. will not follow my every movement and send me adds.

Just expect to have to buy a new device (when the battery dies) every three years or so. (I have a stash of two batteries for my One sitting in my drawer) Too bad.

@PDL01 Thank you for sharing the results of your research.  I am still holding out hope for the One.  The device is still working.  It is certainly possible that they cannot or will not fix the backend interface so that the One will sync and log/keep stats like it should.  But it is also possible that a fix will be found.  I am sure the One is not a priority, as it is a very old legacy device.

As far as the Charge 6, it is my understanding that no current Fitbit device has an altimeter for counting floors, which I also like about the One.  Do you know if that is true?  It's not essential for me, but I did have personal floor goals daily, as well as step goals!

The device works, the APP does not.

No, the Charge does not have an altimeter, I think the One was one of the few Fitbit devices that could count stairs (my record is 100 floors - climbing Arthur's Peak in Scotland).

Sorry to say, but the One is dead, unless you copy down the numbers just before midnight if you want to keep track. Old school methods still work.

@PDL01 Thanks for the reply, that was my understanding about the altimeter.  100 floors is amazing, congratulations!
