Not Receiving Notifications on Samsung S7

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Samsung S7 and Fitbit Versa.  Text notifications randomly stop working.  I have uninstalled and re-installed the app, "unpair" on Bluetooth, rebooted the Versa and yet the problem persists.  Some days I have to unpair and re-pair multiple times on the same day.

For example...I re-paired it yesterday and notifications worked.  This morning they stopped.  I have followed steps on the Fitbit website to ensure it is paired correctly.  Notifications in the app are turned on.

Any advice?  Anything I'm missing?

Welcome to the Forums @darbfred.

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing the steps that you have to follow to get the notifications to work.

In this case I'd like to ask you some questions in regards to the situation:

  • What app are you getting text notifications from? Is it the default texting app on the phone?
  • Are you getting other notifications (calls and calendar)?
  • Do you get syncing issues at the same time as the text notifications start having issues?

Look forward to your reply.

Hi,

I am using the default texting app. I do not use calendar notifications and have not received calls recently.

I checked my Versa with a different phone and a tablet. The Versa is not discovered when trying to connect with Bluetooth.

I've uninstalled/rebooted/reinstalled the Fitbit app. And I've attempted multiple times to set up the Versa in the app and it does not work.

It appears to be an issue within the Versa since it does not connect with any device now.

Please let me know how to receive a replacement, as this quite new and no longer functions properly.

Thanks for the help,
Darlene

Good luck receiving any USEFUL/HELPFUL advice from support.  The problem lies within the Fitbit app. Thousands of Samsung device users suddenly can no longer use their Fitbit consistently nor reliably.  Replacing your Fitbit MAY give you short term relief,  but it will soon become unreliable. I've rebooted,  uninstalled,  reinstalled the app as well as my Fitbit Versa COUNTLESS times to no avail. My Versa will not communicate with my Samsung Note 8 consistently.  It's now a very expensive wrist weight which does me no good

Over the past several days, here's what I've done and where things stand.  One day, I turned the Fitbit off, unpaired the device, deleted the app from my phone, and did not use the device for about 24 hours.

The following day, I reinstalled the app, paired the device and set up the notifications I use.  I now wonder if there was a glitch in a previous app update because the device has worked flawlessly ever since.
