Not receiving trophies

I started and completed the Goal day challenge by myself last week and didn't receive a trophy. I started and completed it again yesterday, this time with a friend added. Received the trophy that time and under it says earned one time...even though I've done it twice now and on the challenge message board it says "you completed goal day with 4000 more steps than last time" so really I should have 2 trophies and a personal best trophy? Still only one even with the update...

Yesterday I also started and completed daily showdown, only I did that one solo. It said I won the trophy and came in first obviously, but no trophy. This one makes more sense because I competed against myself but I also walked 17000 steps beating my goal by 7000 and why would they even let you do it alone if there's no point? I've started daily showdown again today and added a friend.

But will I always have to add a friend to the goal day challenge in order for my efforts to be recognized? 

It's just irritating because challenges stop being motivational when they fail to recognize and record your hard work.
