Notifications not working with Android 8.0

Can't seem to get the notifications to work with Blaze or Charge 2 on Android 8.0 on Motorola Droid Z Play. I have uninstalled the app reset all permissions and settings deleted Bluetooth for the app and reset the device. No notifications work on the blaze or charge 2.

I appreciate all the information that was shared in your post, I'm sorry to know that you're experiencing difficulties with the notifications feature of your Blaze and Charge 2 devices. 

Let me share with you that the Motorola Droid Z Play is not a supported mobile device with our Fitbit products and services, therefore, you may encounter certain connectivity difficulties with both devices such as you're currently experiencing. Even though your mobile device is not compatible, I recommend you to take a look to our help article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Fitbit devices are correctly configured. Please take in consideration that we cannot ensure a proper function of all the Fitbit features due to the compatibility concern previously mentioned, this is because Android, Fitbit app and devices updates.

After verifying the above, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

That's very interesting and unfortunate as I have had the same phone and Fitbit devices for years and notifications have worked up until sometime this year. I'm guessing an update in the app changed how it functions on my phone. Time to search other brands now I guess. Thanks Fitbit it was a fun 4 years.
