Notifications not working

Hello. Bought my first Fitbit today and upon set up I keep receiving this notification on my Huawei P20 light.

Notification Service not running. A phone reset is required to enable notifications on your device.

 

Read though other threads, none of the things adviced to do have worked for me.

Have you checked out the following help file? It seems that phone needs extra steps in the setup that may be the problem here:

I had the same problem on my Xiaomi Note 9 Pro, I got the problem fixed after I changed the following settings for the Fitbit app:

- turned off battery restrictions 

- set ON automatic start up

 

And of course, verify if the app has the autorisation to send notifications...

I was about to through my versa 2 out of the window, you saved my money.

I am using One Plus phone and battery optimizer was stopping the fitbit service. I selected not to optimize and it worked.

I have a Xiaomi 12 and set autostart ON and battery saver no restrictions in Fitbit app info. Thanks so much for your help.
