OMG I threw out the brand new watch and kept the old watch

Was having issues with my brand new Fitbit sense, after several times on customer support I was sent a brand new Fitbit sense. They told me to take the old Fitbit sense and throw it out.

After getting the new watch I took the band off the old one.. end up getting distracted for an hour or two when I came back I grabbed the old watch and put the band back on it. They look both identical they were both brand new. Here's where it gets a little bit upsetting, I have called Fitbit since several times about issues since then four times to be exact they told me today on the phone. Not once have they said to me you're using the old watch, considered how it was working I didn't think it was the old one I thought I was using the new one. Should have been told to me on the phone nothing was ever said. Today I end up calling Fitbit and within a few seconds on the phone they told me I'm using my old watch hook up the new one. I said what do you mean I am using the new watch it's working and the old one I discarded like you told me to. They said to me on the phone no you're using the old watch you need to hook up the new one.. this really startled me and said why have I not been told this on the phone for the last 2 weeks of me calling. I don't have the new one anymore I only have the old one because I shot out the new one by accident. How can something like this happen how could I have never been told on the phone all these times I've called with problems that I've been using the old watch. What am I supposed to do now I'm not going to go to the recycle center and ask them for the watch back because it's basically impossible. So now I'm stuck with an old watch and I have no more technical support or anything. How can this be my fault how can I be held accountable when Fitbit should have told me time and time again on the phone when something could have been done about it. It would have been very easily for me to switch out the watch again the first week of me calling back. Now that it was discarded I've been told this. I feel like such a fool but I also feel like I've been deceived to an extent. The operator on the phone said that I should have been told this considering I've called several times and talk to technical support.

Both watches were identical both watches were basically brand new they are impossible to tell apart. And I don't know why the old watch worked afterwards maybe it was because of the factory reset. What am I supposed to do now, no it's my fault but I should have Been told. Especially since the technical support representative today was the first thing out of their mouth. How can all these other phone conversations happen without any of them saying anything. Out of $300 watch and this could have been completely avoided.

Imagine if I didn't get distracted at the moment this might have not happened. But why would they not tell me on the phone. It makes no sense to me!!

No sense whatsoever!

Hi @Bobinh2otown  that's the most unusual thing I've read on the forums. I'm sorry this happened to you, but it's not Fitbit's fault that you tossed the device away. When I'm told to dispose of something that's being replaced, I tend to hold on to it and make sure the replacement works properly. Your being distracted probably was why you threw away the wrong one. Many times Paypal or the credit card company can be helpful when something occurs, so why not see if they can help you out. I'm not sure Fitbit can do much for you in this case.

Nothing's ever happened to me like this before, as I said my issue is I've been on the phone with them several times after I got the watch and they've never once told me on the phone that I'm using the old one still. They've had ample opportunity to tell me four different times four different phone calls. Never mentioned but then today they mention it and it was the first thing they said. I probably would have still had to watch if they mentioned it one of the four other times before this in the last few weeks. I didn't shoot it out that very moment I shot it out a week later. It wasn't working or at least I didn't think it was working because I was using the old one you get what I'm saying. Why would I keep a broken watch.

And this would have never happened but being under the stress and anxiety I have for my little dog having congestive heart failure and having a moment I just lost my train of thought... That's what irks me is that I called and talked to them several times and never mentioned. You're talking to technical support they see it instantly why don't they say something.
