I have about 15 inactive fitbits ranging from the flex to the charge HR. What do I do with them?

Correct @Chez330 you have to take them to the closest electric devices recycling center.

Hi @Chez330 by inactive, you mean they are no longer working?

Yup. Broken straps, dead units, malfunctioning units. You name it I have
it. My husband and I have been faithful fitbit wearers since February 2013.
Wasn't sure if anyone knew of a way to recycle them.

My fitbits are in good condition and don't need to wind up in the trash just yet. So I've found one company that lets you recycle or donate your fitbit.

I've donated them to RecycleHealth (link). RecycleHealth donates trackers to organizations in the US, including senior centers, programs for developmentally disabled adults, and running clubs for children in underserved areas.

They accept trackers that are:

  • Brand new
  • Previously owned but unopened
  • Used and fully working
  • Used with broken or missing accessories
  • Accessories only, such as loose chargers and bands

They don't accept trackers that are:

  • Missing electronic parts or pieces
  • Do not turn on after charging
  • Do not hold a charge for at least 48 hrs

In no way we shouldn't throw fitbits away with all other garbage like food waste and clothes. I agree with Codewalker about donating them to RecycleHealth. It's a very nice idea because I'm sure they'll give them to those who need fitbits. But in the cases when the fitbit no longer works and is missing parts, you can collect all electronics that don't work anymore and call southampton waste collection services to take and recycle them.
