One Fitbit overriding another.

So I got my Flex 2 out and charged it up and paired it with my account again and as soon as it synced all of my steps from my Flex were gone, over 4000. Extremely disappointed as I had this same issue last year and I thought it would have been fixed by now. You advertise that you can have more than one Fitbit on your account and all steps will be combined however this is not true. I have a lot of money invested in your products and this just makes me so upset.

It is safest to complete a sync with device that you are taking off first, to get all data from tracker to Fitbit database. However, I did see someone say that they will still work out eventually.

Before giving up, I suggest sync with the one you have on, take it off and put on the other and sync it, and see if it all catches up.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I'm having no issues but what @JohnnyRow posted is important and because I'm using my Ionic, One and Zip concurrently I have to do some checking of each before I sync.

I have always used the One concurrently, but now testing the Zip in the same way because the One isn't sold now. It's labour of love to be able to pickup the missing steps from shopping trolleys and it works. I started this because for months I was pushing my daughter around in a wheelchair. I still wanted to pick up the HR data so removing the watch and putting it in my pocket wasn't an option and testing the watch on the inside of my ankle worked, but fraut with potential inaccuracies. The step count was perfect this way.

If the One and or the Zip is well ahead in steps I shutdown the Ionic and sync the others. Normally I find the Zip and One are within a few steps. The other day, with the One 1,200 steps ahead of the Ionic, the Zip was only lagging by 4 steps.

If I don't do that I may lose the extra steps from waist trackers which has happened as @Frawg has posted.

After the PC Dashboard shows the correct steps I turn the Ionic on and sync that and the Ionic then shows the  new extra step count.

I have the same problem.  Alta over riding flex2.  It started happening after the Jan 2018 app update.  Following the sync directions in this thread now takes my active minutes away.  I have to input it manually.  Good luck with getting further help.  I"ve been waiting since Feb.

When you sync one, make sure the other is not close enough that it is not getting synced instead.

@JohnnyRowI have a bonus because we have so much random difficulty syncing the Ionic.  A gain for me .. I can always sync the waist trackers without concerns.

Going out today I hadn't synced anything, the Ionic was on 1,218, the One 864 and the Zip 88, The One had picked up an earlier sync from the Ionic.. So I sync'd the One and the Zip and came out of the house at 1,220 on all units.

Now after some random shopping (holding a basket in the other hand) all units are at 2,934, 3,111 and 3,114.. I synced using Fitbit Connect to speed up the sync and even Fitbit Connect can't "see" the Ionic..  Because the phone syncing goes to the Fitbit server first it has now synced back to the Ionic at 3,120 steps..

Re: keeping the trackers away from the syncing device

I have to keep them at least 50' (15m)  away because my Zip and One will sync through 3 walls and ceiling and that's where the random sync this morning came from the One..

Multi works for me and when I have the situation below, by turning off the Ionic and turning it on after I have synced the other devices works.  My theory is, turning the lagging Fitbit off and then turning it on again is a short period of inactivity where I feel the algorithms would decide, "this is a tracker being brought into play",  and is updated from the server history..
