Option to have a Dark Theme in the app

This new whitewashed "minimalist" theme is horrible. Why do devs the world over keep pushing this on to consumers?

How do we get a dark theme?

Seriously, this is horrible. Who thought a blinding white theme with no option to change it was a great idea?

Unfortunately, the feature suggestion for a dark theme has been closed and declined by fitbit. See: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Dark-Theme-in-Fitbit-App/idi-p/2136738

Hmm, the mod who closed it stated that people could still vote for the idea, but I don't see a voting button anywhere.

It seems you can't any more. If you were able to vote it would be via an icon just below the vote count.

Surely Fitbit didn't tell people you could still vote for a feature and then quietly removed the ability to actually vote???

That mod post was back in February. I guess things have moved on

This is ridiculous. This whitewash minimalist UI obsession is a disease today. It is forced on us when no one wants it and I don't understand why. I actually hate it. Google were obsessed with it for years until relenting with a dark mode (Heavens Forbid), Microsoft eventually relented since forcing this rubbish idea on us back in Windows 8, yet now Fitbit have just got on this bandwagon and think it's a great idea to butcher the UI and blind people at night all because some chump went to design school and was told that's the thing to do, based on no actual research in to actual customer preferences.

I don't care about their "design vision" I just don't want this minimalist whitewash rubbish everywhere.

It is also bad for AMOLED screens by wearing them out faster and using more power. What a stupid idea.

How do we lobby Fitbit to see sense like other companies have now grudgingly come to?

Yep Fitbit just closed it off last time with a flat determination to ignore paying customers after several years of lobbying. Apparently someone's ridiculous "design vision" concocted in some ivory tower is more important than paying customers.

It's not nuclear science, it's just a sodding dark theme. Why is this so hard??

I have yet to find a company more deaf to customer requests than Fitbit..

A dark theme seems like a no brainer with both Apple and Google heading in that direction..

My original request (for something as basic as YouTube music support) which I made day 1 upon receiving my preordered versa has received basically zero traction. In that time I've already lost 50+ lbs and reached my weight goal and thankfully no longer have a need for this device or this sorry company

If you have an Android, you can force dark mode through DEV options. It's a little iffy but it works

I honestly don't care about FitBit's reasons to get rid of dark mode

I mean have you heard of dyslexia, I find it hard to read anything with black wrighting on a whit background but you expect me to be able to check my fitness with these colours?!

Not only that but this blinds me every time I look at it, just give us the choice for the background we want, surely you've had enough complaints to see that taking away dark mode was stupid!! 😠

It's hard to even describe the level of contempt I feel for these white theme supremacists.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for sharing your feedback about the option to have a dark theme available in the Fitbit app. I see where your disappointment is coming from. In this case, you may want to vote for this idea Dark Theme in Fitbit App (Android, Win10 and iOS) these are reviewed by our team and the status will change depending on Fitbit plans. Even when it's set to "Not Currently planned" you can still vote for it to show your support.

Hope this helps.
