Pixel Watch Fitbit app says "Oops something wrong. Try Again" when starting a workout

Whenever I try and start a workout on the Fitbit app on my Google Pixel Watch (1), it just says "Oops something wrong. Try Again" and freezes.

I have tried the following:

- Hard resetting my Pixel Watch

- Logging out of Fitbit, restarting both devices, and reconnecting my pixel watch

I have also noticed that after a hard restart, it starts working again before the Fitbit app on the watch eventually updates itself. After the update, the error comes up again
