Pixel phones-(Android 15) Recent/Frequent food have their tops cropped off at the top of the screen.

I'm sure 4.29 solved some problems, however it introduced a new problem.  When in the food selection both the Recent and Frequent have their tops cropped off at the top of the screen.  Same thing happens when you want to add calories to the top numeric entry field which is cutoff.

One has to wonder about all these updates but never getting very far.

43 days later I finally get this issued resolved for me.  Never mind the myriad of previous problems and those that others are reportedly still exist.  During this long wait there has been no comments from Google, even the Moderators have nothing meaningful to communicate. Google has lost my loyalty and respect for treating customers this way.  I for one will not be renewing my Premium subscription.  I got tired of waiting and I am using Cronometer.  I regret buying the PW3 and my Pixel 9 XL Pro.

With the app currently being crippled in adding my nutritional information and not knowing how much longer we will have to wait I downloaded the Cronometer app. It syncs well with Fitbit. It has an amazing food database and much more granular nutritional data then Fitbit.

I sent this also into Google. They closed my ticket and claimed they fixed it. It was not fixed. About 4 weeks for me as well.

Same. I asked for the link to a ticket (or this forum) to follow progress and they told me there wasn't any!

I started a new conversation tonight and they said they are fixing it with next update. I asked when that will come out and she did not have a ETA.

How do we raise a ticket? If we all raise one at once they surely can't ignore it.

...Why am I not surprised!

---My Fitbit app is mostly doing sleep and step/calories burnt count for me now. My Fitness Pal is now where I am measuring macros and stuff like that.

I am now considering changing to another tracker just to be able to actually log food properly! We used to have the Dashboard, which would have been a workaround but that is gone. You can't add quick calories either as the box is cut off. Also (separate observation) with the most recent update, the body fat measurement when you weigh yourself now only does % and no way to show kg anymore. It's all just getting worse!

This has now happened to me as well on a Pixel7 Pro

I woulnd't be surprised if they just remove the food tracking all together. It is obviously not in their priority.

Hi everyone!
I'm grateful for all your messages and feedback about this situation regarding the recent/frequent food having their tops cropped off at the top of the screen.

As I previously said, in order to avoid any confusion, we suggest you all, should you encounter other issues besides the cropped display, to open a new thread, post on a dedicated thread about that or add your suggestion in the product feedback forum.

This will help the Community to be in order and to kept focus on the main issue discussed here.

@Darren_F I understand your feeling about your membership. Could you please take a look into this help article ? How do I manage or cancel my Fitbit Premium subscription?

@PatGC Thank you for your feedback regarding the sort of information the developers need to go through to make their app work.

I will be posting here any updates as soon as I receive the information.

That's actually a great point. They are monetizing the other areas of the app. Anything else is pretty simple feature set to support. The food section is the most complex area and have no direct monetization strategy? Tbh I think a lot of us would be fine with the premium membership attributing towards supporting the food section. It's one of the most critical parts of the app to probably majority of the users? They aren't catering to their user base by ignoring it.

I agree that it is the most important part of the app. I have lost 16 pounds since I got the app by using the food tracking feature.

I generally have tolerance for weird bugs being hard to fix because I've also worked in software and know that stuff that seems simple can be weirdly complex behind the scenes. But cmon man. It's been like a month and it's rather disruptive for a big part of the app. I feel like I'm going crazy lol

I saw this thread right after I posted mine.. I'm using a Pixel.

How interesting for Google projects not to be compatible with each other

Same problem on my Pixel 9 pro XL. I thought something would have been done by now! Really frustrating!

I feel like they hear that we can't see some of the options in the app and think its not that big of a deal. Like they don't realize just how much functionality has been lost by this issue. It has been almost a month, and in that time I've seen an update to the weight section of the app but not a fix for this issue.

I have noticed a similar issue on other apps recently. Thinking it's an Android 15 issue rather than FitBit.

It's definitely an Android change - another user up the thread posted the link to the android developers site describing the change.  That's no excuse, in that these changes are known well in advance - in this case I think they may have finally stopped supporting a deprecated component - and of course every part of this problem is Google's (Pixel, Android, Fitbit all Google).  UI framework changes suck from a testing perspective, because they potentially touch everything, so I can see them taking some time.  Not a month, unless they did it wrong and had to rework (which again, it's all Google so there's really no excuse for not being able to figure it out).

The lesson for Google here is that if they'd just provided some kind of updates along the way I think they'd have short-circuited a lot of the anger and frustration.
