Please explain how I'm posting this with an "unavailable" internet connection

I bought the new Flex 2 FOUR days ago.  I upgraded from a Flex.  Yesterday, I updated my app (that I've been using since I got this phone) yesterday.  Now the app opens to a screen that says it's trying to "upgrade the database" and keeps saying it doesn't have the required internet connection that I am using to write this.  Someone with 'fitbit' in their screen name explain how this will be fixed - without saying, even hinting at, this is something I did wrong.  The only thing I see I'VE done wrong is trust your company again.

Hi, @SunsetRunner! Sounds like something might have gotten corrupted. You can try clearing the cache/data for the app and also uninstalling/reinstalling it. That might clear up the issue.

I just upgraded to the latest version of the Fitbit app for Android.  When I tap to access the app, an error appears stating that the app is "Upgrading databases..." and needs and internet connection.   This is continued by a timeout error and prompt to retry.   A similar problem was submitted to community back in 2015.  I started there and did everything the accepted solution suggested. Still no luck.   Any insight is appreciated.

I'm having the same issue in version 2.60 of the app.

I've tried clearing the data cache from System | App settings, and Force Closing the app, but that hasn't helped.

Hey, everyone! Thanks for bringing this error inside the Fitbit app to my attention.

It seems like this came up in the last app release 2.60. It would be very helpful if one of you could provide a screenshot of this error message. If that's not possible, a verbatim of the text would also help. I would suggest clearing your cache like @MakMak has mentioned. Try the following instructions:

  1. Go to the Settings app
  2. Tap Application Manager
  3. Find the Fitbit app
  4. Tap Storage
  5. Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data

After that log back into the Fitbit app. Please let me know if this continues! I'll be around keeping an eye on this thread.
